  • Verticillium wilt of lucerne.
  • Vascular wilt (Fusarium oxsyporum f.sp. elaeidis) and basal stem rot ( Ganoderma spp) of oil palm.
  • Diseases of cocoa including Phytophthora palmivora, Phytophthora megakarya and vascular wilt (Verticillium dahliae).
  • Diseases of Coconut including grey leaf blight (Pestalotiopsis palmarum) leaf spot (Helminthosporium incurvatum) bud rot (Phytophthora palmivora) and dry basal rot (Ceratocystis paradoxa).
  • Bacterial blight (Xanthomonas campestris pv manihotis) of cassava.
  • Fusarium wilt ( F. xylarioides) of coffee.

Experience

  • Research Project Leader at CABI Bioscience ; Cocoa Co-ordinator for CABI.
  • Research supervision at University of Bristol
  • Team Leader of Tropical Plant Pathology Laboratory at Bath University.
  • Head of Pathology Section at Cocoa and Coconut Research Institute, PNG. Sixteen years teaching of undergraduates to Honours level including full courses of lectures and practicals, tutorials, project supervision and seminars.
  • Consultant for the International Coffee Organization (coffee), the FAO (date palm) and various oil palm research centres throughout the world
